Fondation Zakoura
The Zakoura Foundation is a Moroccan charity that has been working to promote human development through education for children, training for young people and the empowerment of women since 1997. It works every day to tackle two challenges: providing quality infrastructure for the education of children living in the most marginalised and hard to access areas; and strengthening rural communities’ power to act, including through the ANEER programme, through which, for just 5 dirhams a day, a child can be provided with a preschool education and given equal chances of succeeding at school.
With the Foundation and its Friends
The partnership between the Club Med Foundation and the Zakoura Foundation made it possible to create the Ain Eslim preschool in the province of Marrakech in 2019, with the goal of providing a quality education to children from disadvantaged areas and establishing a long-term preschool education solution to benefit the local communities.
The funds raised are used to support various projects depending on the charity’s current priorities.
